Purpose
The Asheboro City Schools Welcome Center is centrally located near the campus of Asheboro High School. The center includes two rooms, the actual Welcome Center and the Comet Community Room. The purpose of the Welcome Center is to provide a hub for students, families, staff, and the community to to become partners in helping all students succeed. At the heart of our mission is the belief that a connected and engaged community is the cornerstone of every student’s success.

Offerings
ACS Welcome Center staff are available during the day and designated evenings to serve the needs of students and families.
- Providing parent education sessions to actively engage parents around topics related to parenting skills, understanding child and adolescent development, and supporting students’ academic learning and social-emotional needs at home.
- Building parents’ leadership and decision-making capacity to strengthen their advocacy for students within the K-12 setting and beyond.
- Communicating with parents about academic offerings and extracurricular programs available to K-12 students.
- Creating collaborative opportunities between families and community/ business partners to learn about available resources and how to access them.
